PhD candidate in Artificial Intelligence at the Department of Computer Science of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. My research interests include analysis of evolutionary computation for multimodal optimisation, as well as fitness landscape analysis. I enjoy puzzles, maths, nature and music. Lately I have been working on a playground for evolutionary computation in Julia.

I was previously a research associate at the Research Group with Strategic Focus in Intelligent Systems of Tecnológico de Monterrey, studying evolutionary computation, hyper-heuristics and constraint satisfaction. I was also an associate lecturer in the Department of Computer Science, where I was teaching automata theory, discrete maths, and programming languages.

I spent some time as research assistant and lead developer at the Department of Mathematics at Tecnológico de Monterrey, where I implemented online evaluations for maths MOOCs Matemáticas y Movimiento and El Cálculo, among many other projects focusing on mathematics education.
